I'm Hired

A month has passed since I report for duty. It was fun to actually work. ~HAHA~ especially a week before raya. Then I had to buy the ticket last minute and it cost us a fortune. Then I had to change the date, another hundred flew to Tony Fernandes.

Job was OK. Not so hard except for the first three weeks, I was bored with nothing to do. And they were unprepared for new exec. like me. But now it's OK, I guess.

No time to spend

Holly molly, it has been more than a month since i write. that spring break we went to seattle. spent almost a week at the same time jeopardizing my grades. well i had several reports to write and none of them came out the way i hope it supposed to. but all done is done i got my papers back we are on the right track hoping that all the calculations we made is really what it is supposed to be. frankly i have no idea to write. it has been raining, i lost my love, my only love that can transfer files back and forth. i will try harder to find her, misery i feel but not hopeless. believing in God, what happened is God willing through our reason. Monday holiday

Whenever a Monday is a holiday i often confused myself with having to think the Monday as Sunday and then the Tuesday as Monday. it gets really confusing when the classes are all following the Monday schedule on the Tuesday. it may be because normally students don't have class or rather less class than on Monday. well, tomorrow i shall not forget that it is actually a Tuesday or i may end up missing coming from work.

now i now how it feel when we are asked to design something. there a lots of things we don't know and have to guess, assume, approximate and such. it makes everyone in the class uncomfortable since we don't really have the numbers needed to design the thing we are suppose to design. they may be lots of way to design so no one correct answer is approached. with people thinking differently, we get lots of solutions for a given problem. this is really a smart way to learn, i wonder why we were not exposed to this kind of thing during our high schools so that the schools will generate more creativity from the students.

shoveling yesterday

the sight of snow makes me wonder sometimes how beautiful it is really to be here, watching the snow falls to street, covering the trees, the cars and all that is outside waiting to covered by the snow. Few days ago, a day of valentine in 2007, big snowstorm hit the upper east side of the US. some parts get even the whole house covered with snow. there is nothing i know that can prevent it but hearing the news was kind of interesting to me watching how something as big as house can be totally covered by snow. but well in my place we did not get that much snow, only about 15 to 20 inches. but then the next morning the snow trucks came and shovel the streets leaving a big pile at the sides of road making it hard for anyone to walk by foot. those car left at the sides of the snow then got covered in the midst of cleaning the street so vehicles can travel through and then people can get to work and go to classes. little everyone who never experience snow know that sprinkling salt at the snow will melt the ice making it wet all over the street. well the day after the snowstorm i have to wear my insulation shoes since the whole road is covered with melting ice as result of interaction with salt. so due to the snow being shovel to the sides of the road, my car was also covered and well we did not act in hurry to clear it from the snow since we were not using cars to get to class but rather a bus, each an everyday when there is class. perhaps it is interesting to show how the car was covered. so the picture was put up, yet risking in exposing my identity to the public but well who cares. no one knows. so when finally the weekends came, it was then became the best day to shovel. to dig our car so that we can see the real car underneath the snow. those who live in houses i saw them shoveling seems like non stop from am to pm so that their driveway can be cleared. it was not a boy or a man but rather a middle aged woman. from her aura i felt that i should also be doing something i have been put off doing ever since the storm stopped. so it was all done yesterday and a result i tired myself out making me lifeless throughout the day but however after a good lay during the hour of 2 to 4, that night i was refreshed to make some groceries as well as visiting a family man in town. we were served with coconut milk rice and if i will try translating the literal meaning it will be called fat rice. aha. serves you right if you are trying to introduce this kind of food to any English speaking person, they not be willing to eat them.

February

February is the shortest month .. i like. It is fresh and ferpect.

But there is gotta be more to life. I have 2 ongoing projects. Ongoing lab reports. Each week. I think that I have made a wise decision to keep this semester quite empty. Although I work on 2 weekdays. It is like taking 11+14=28 Credits all together. Come to think of it, it is kind of busy. But I have friday, saturday and sunday off. which is cool. I enjoy on thursday nite, fridays and saturdays, haha.

I have also been naughty. I write sins on me when no one is looking. I keep forgetting that God is looking and angels are writing. It makes me wonder sometimes that my inner darkness emerges when no one is around. So do i need someone with me all the time. So that my inner darkness will shy away and not surface.

10 Muharam

Tomorrow is 10 Muharam, the tenth day in Islamic calendar. It is the day of remembrance for prophet Musa having been saved by Allah with his followers from the evil of Pharaoh. It is encouraged to fast on this day as well as the day before. I am trying to fast so I hope it will go through.

So today is almost two weeks after classes started. I have projects in design class and fortran, as well as labs in ep lab. Those three things are enough to keep me busy. The design class is going very very slowly as for me, since I have done little about the design class.

Topics I think I should be researching: Properties of an aluminum sheet metal.
1) force, stress, tension
2) inductance
3) dent

A trip to Hilo

Arrived at Hilo on Saturday morning at around 7 and it was raining. In fact, it was the rainy season during my stay and it was during the winter break, so it was about 5 jan in 2007. The airport is a small one and it really looks like a rural kind of airport with wooden walls and floor. It was open and there was no airconditioned once we step out of the bridge from the airplane. Instuitively, I rent a car so that we can see the whole island in the fastest and keisurely possible. We stayed for 3 days and it was raining everyday. Luckily when we arrived at one point the rain just stopped and the sun shows itself. We maanaged to find the south most point of the US and looking at the sea, the wind was blowing ferociously. A few minutes standing at the shore, we were greeted with a heavy flow of rain blowing towards the lands. Our hope of finding the black plus green sand beach shattered through the glass of the rain drops. We also found out that Mauna Kea in the big island of Hawaii is the tallest mountain as measured from the bottom of the sea.

A waiter in restaurant

I was once a waiter working in a Turkish restaurant. It was not really a difficult job and the pay was satisfactory. I remembered taking orders from customers, and there were sometimes customers who ordered something not in the menu and often times I was annoyed. Why wouldn't everyone just order something that IS on the menu? Why would anyone make my life miserable? Why? Why? I was a customer and always be a customer in some restaurant and sometimes I would just do the same. Sometimes, my experience stop me from ordering something different from the menu. I would rather spend more time studying the menu rather than asking the waiter or ask the waiter to put more of that, less of this, without that thing or ordering something out of the menu. I once ordered a plain fried egg when it is not really in the menu. I felt guilty sometimes but it was way back when I had not been a waiter. Indeed being a waiter has taught me some important lesson in life. I quited the job because I was bored. I am easily bored. Imagine having to do the same thing each time you come to work. I am not that kind of a person. I just could not stand it. Especially when I am also a student studying to get a degree. It was not really easy to be a student when you really want to excel in your studies. Nevertheless, I feel like working again since I need some money. I am now surveying some position working in the campus.

Gambling

In a casino I saw a lot of elders playing the gambling machine hoping to get their luck strike thus obtaining a lot of money. However, the rule of gambling will not let you win that easily. The probability of winning the biggest jackpot is very close to zero. Rich people know about this thus making it a competition to build the grandest hotel with lots of casino slot machines hence making them rich and richer everyday. The majority of those playing the casino machines tend to bet on everything on every choice possible. Intuitively, they will win some, more frequent than those who bet little on few choices. Nevertheless, they always end up losing more than than what they are winning. In the end they have nothing and often go home with less than they bring in. So I think we can guess where the money goes; to people like Mr Trump.
